Flexible Postage Class, Now for On-Demand

What's New?

Back in May, we introduced the ability to change postage type on a per-order basis for one-time mailings, removing the need to create a duplicate project just to switch mail class. Effective August 13, we're extending that same flexibility to on-demand mailings.

When uploading a data file for an on-demand order, you'll now see a Postage Type dropdown showing the postage classes available for that project. By default, it will show the postage type set during your project's initial setup, so if you don't need to change anything, there's nothing new to do. If you'd like a different class for that specific order, simply select it, add your data file, adjust your desired mail date if needed, and upload.

Key Benefits

This update brings the same advantages one-time mailers have had since May directly into your on-demand upload workflow:

• Cost Efficiency: Eliminate the need for duplicate on-demand projects. You no longer need separate versions of a project just to change postage, saving on project units.
• Faster Turnaround: Upload, select your postage type, and go (no waiting on a new project to be built and approved).
• Reduced Risk: One project, one design, all postage types. There's no more guessing which project version corresponds to which mail class.
• Operational Flexibility: Adjust your postage type order by order, right at the moment you upload your data.

A quick note on the dropdown: it will only display postage types that are valid for your specific project and mailer format (for example, postcards and letters have different available rates), and Nonprofit rates require a valid USPS Nonprofit authorization on file. Our system automatically checks eligibility, so you'll only ever see options you're approved to use.
