Units
New to the Units system? Find everything you need to know right in this article!
Essentially, your contract is a bulk purchase of a specific number of units allowing for maximum flexibility throughout the year. It also provides the bonus of getting the best price per piece based on your overall yearly volume rather than the volume for each project. Each project you do with us will have a unit value assigned for both print and design work. This handy guide breaks down each of our offerings by specification and unit value. For a breakdown of design levels and unit charges please see our design guide.
Design charges will be pulled from the number of units purchased on your contract and moved to a section called "Design Budget" on your dashboard. This helps to track how your units were spent throughout the year.
Here are some things to note:
- Postage is not part of this equation, that is a separate billable component.
- Unit value of a design does not change based on the number you order. For example, you don't get a break if you order more and you don't get whacked if you order less.
- Your "Design Budget" will frequently look like you've used 100% of the units available. Don't worry! As long as you have units remaining on the contract we will automatically transfer units to this budget to cover any design-related fees.
